In 2018 the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) make available online access to two collections of Taylor & Francis journals:

Keesing’s Records of World Events


Keesing's was founded in 1931 with the intention of creating a lasting archive of original, accurate, and objective articles on the world's political, social, and economic events. Keesing's is published 11 times a year, providing a comprehensive overview of developments over each month. Every country in the world receives dedicated coverage each year, with most countries covered monthly. As well as nations there are articles on international organisations and topics of international concern, including the environment, disarmament, and scientific research. Each article is devoted to a single country or international topic, with coverage in each issue organised by region.

FIRST - Facts on International Relations and Security Trends

The FIRST system offers researchers, politicians and the media an authoritative and structured factual reference system on international relations and security trends. It contains high-quality, up-to-date and clearly documented information in areas such as:

  • conflicts, arms transfers and military expenditure
  • hard facts on states and international organizations
  • economic and social statistics
  • chronologies
EU Neighbourhood Library

The EU Neighbourhood Library is a user-friendly online database bringing together the key documents that guide EU relations with the ENP and ENPI partner countries.This database allows you to search and download a wide range of materials drawn from official EU sources and EU-funded projects in the neighbourhood. These range from Association Agreements and Country reports to essential policy documents and research generated by the projects. The search can be made by country, by theme, by source, by policy, by date of publication and by keyword.Documents can be downloaded in their original language (mainly English or French) as well as any other language versions in which they are available.


Science Direct Elsevier


Science Direct includes electronic Elsevier journals.

They are available from:

World Economic Outlook Databases


The World Economic Outlook (WEO) database is created during the biannual WEO exercise, which begins in January and June of each year and results in the April and September WEO publication. Selected series from the publication are available in a database format.



Alliance Treaty Obligations and Provisions (ATOP)


The Alliance Treaty Obligations and Provisions (ATOP) project provides data regarding the content of military alliance agreements signed by all countries of the world between 1815 and 2003.

World Treaty Index


Once fully complete, the World Treaty Index will feature every known international agreement in the 20th Century. This includes tens of thousands agreements entered into by hundreds of countries and international organizations. Currently, this website only contains treaties signed between 1945 and 1999. Remaining treaties are being added according to the following timeline:

  • Agreements signed before 1945 - October
  • Treaties signed in 1998 and 1999 - November
  • Multilateral party identifiers - December

Those interested in obtaining the full dataset can download it in Excel and transfer it to their preferred software package (SPSS, Stata, R,).

  • Rules of Library Use
    • The library offers open access to the public.
    • Access to the library’s holdings is available with a valid library user card.
    • To register, readers must fill in the form available with the online catalogue.
    • Registration includes a fee.
    • The user card is valid for 24 months. After expiration, the card may be renewed.
    • In the card is lost, the user must inform the library promptly.
    • The lending rules for library publications may be found in the library’s regulations
    • Access to the reference library, newspapers, magazines and materials borrowed from other libraries based on an interlibrary loan is possible only from the reading room.
    • Readers who wish to use materials kept in storage should place an order using the online catalogue
    • During a single visit to the reading room each reader may use up to six storeroom volumes.
    • Materials requested from storage will be kept in the reading room for seven (7) days from the date ordered.
    • In case of damage or lost library materials, the reader is obligated to provide the library with another copy of the damaged item, another approved item or a relevant payment.
